“Sustainable And Innovative Food And Meat Systems: A One Health Approach To Safety, Nutrition And Resilience For Viksit Bharat”

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Department of Livestock Products Technology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Parbhani and Association of Meat Scientists and Technologists (AMST) cordially invite you to participate in the eighth convention of the AMST and National Conference on "Sustainable and Innovative Food and Meat Systems: A One Health Approach to Safety, Nutrition and Resilience for Viksit Bharat” from 29 to 31 October 2026.

Theme of the Conference

The proposed conference theme emphasizes a holistic and interdisciplinary framework to transform contemporary food and meat sectors in alignment with national development goals. The One Health paradigm integrates animal health, human health and environmental sustainability, highlighting the need for responsible livestock production, efficient resource utilization and reduced ecological impact. Advancements in meat science, including novel processing technologies, value addition, functional meat products and alternative protein sources, offer promising avenues to enhance food quality, safety, and nutritional security. Concurrently, addressing challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic disease transmission and foodborne hazards remains critical through strengthened biosecurity measures, surveillance systems and regulatory frameworks. Emphasizing innovation, the theme highlights the role of advanced processing technologies, value addition, alternative proteins and digital traceability in improving efficiency, transparency and consumer confidence in meat supply chains. Furthermore, sustainable practices such as waste valorization, circular bioeconomy and climate-resilient production systems contribute to reducing environmental footprints and enhancing system resilience against climate change and global disruptions. Strengthening these integrated systems supports nutritional security, promotes rural livelihoods and enhances farmer incomes. Ultimately, this theme is highly significant in guiding policy, research, and industry efforts toward building a safe, resilient and future-ready food system that aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
